THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A 30-year-old Thibodaux man who allegedly confessed to beheading his disabled 7-year-old son has been indicted on a charge of first-degree murder.
The Comet (http://bit.ly/np4xvT) reports that a Lafourche Parish grand jury handed up the indictment charging Jeremiah Wright on Friday morning.
The victim, Jori Lirette, was killed last week. Authorities said he was dismembered and his head was set in the yard of their home.
If he is convicted of first-degree murder, Wright would face possible sentences of either life in prison or execution.
