OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - A St. Landry Parish grand jury has indicted Warren Ray Gautreaux in the January 2006 slayings of an elderly Eunice couple.
The Advocate reports Gautreaux was charged Thursday with the first-degree murders of 83-year-old Youric Courville and 70-year-old Mary Courville.
The Eunice Police Department arrested Gautreaux and a second man, Quinten Ceasar, late last year in the nearly six-year-old case.
In late January, a state judge dismissed the charges against Ceasar, citing a lack of probable cause in the case.
A neighbor discovered the couple's bodies inside their home on Jan. 10, 2006.
Police suspected the couple died during a burglary of their home.
