Grand jury charges man in shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury has indicted a 28-year-old man in the April 1 drive-by shooting death of a woman.
The Advocate reports Jonathan Dewayne York was charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of 37-year-old Shantell Johnese.
Baton Rouge police have said Johnese was shot while she stood in front of a home.
York also was charged as a felon in possession of a firearm.
The case has been assigned to state District Judge Mike Erwin.
