Grambling BYOB clubs may have to close before bars

GRAMBLING, La. (AP) - Bring-your-own-bottle clubs would have to close an hour before bars in Grambling under an ordinance to be introduced Sept. 1.
The Ruston Daily Leader reports that a July 23 shooting outside the Executive Blues Lounge prompted the proposal made during the Town Council's monthly meeting last week.
Police Chief Tommy Clark says the problems aren't inside but outside. He says closing BYOB clubs at 1 a.m. would give police an hour to clear out their parking lots before they go to bars to do the same thing at 2 a.m.
