BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal has no well-funded competitors for his re-election bid - but that hasn't stopped his hefty fundraising efforts.
Jindal's office said the Republican governor headed to Philadelphia on Monday to raise campaign cash for the Oct. 22 election. His latest campaign finance report showed Jindal with nearly $9 million in his account.
The governor is seeking a second term in office and has traveled the nation to pick up donations and drum up money for his re-election campaign.
The qualifying period ended last week with no opponents entering the race against Jindal who have significant statewide name recognition or robust donations to mount a campaign.
