Giving Tree Program Helps Local Children Affected by Cancer

Miles Perret Cancer Services (MPCS) is asking Acadiana to support the annual Giving Tree Program, which helps make Christmas easier for families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

The MPCS Giving Tree is an annual gift giving program that offers help to families during Christmas. The program is offered to children and/or siblings (18 or younger living at home) of an active MPCS client. Each ornament on the Giving Tree has a child's wish, age, and gender. (All wishes/gifts should be within the $35 limit.) Generous businesses, groups, and individuals choose ornaments, shop for gifts, and return unwrapped gifts to our office. The MPCS elves wrap gifts in time for Christmas.

With nearly 400 gift requests this year, we are looking to our wonderful community for help," said Executive Director Nicole Jones. "This is a great way to help out neighbors in need this holiday season. "

If you or your office would like to help a family fighting cancer and in need this season, please stop by the MPCS office at 2130 Kaliste Saloom Rd. in Lafayette to adopt ornaments. You may also contact the office at (337) 984-1920 and someone will assist over the phone. Each gift item should be returned, unwrapped, to the MPCS office by Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Visit milesperret.org for additional information on the Giving Tree Program and other MPCS services.
