Holidays can be a stressful time for anyone.
"We had a mom who was diagnosed right around the holidays and she dropped her kids off at school one day and heard an advertisement that Christmas was only four days away and she realized that she hadn't done anything," says Lacey Shelton of Miles Perret Cancer Services.
The Miles Perret giving tree was created to help relieve some of that stress.
"Its one less thing they have to worry about emotionally in finding the time to take care of and its one less thing they have to worry about financially."
Helping a family in need this Christmas is as simple as picking up an ornament. Each one says whether the gift is for a boy or a girl, their age and exactly what they want and where to find it.
"Pick up an ornament from our tree and get one of their toys, bring it back here and we take care of getting them wrapped and getting them to the families."
Shelton says they will receive gifts for about 200 children.
"Unless you're going through treatment and going through everything that they're facing then its something you don't really think of."
