A convicted murder will be sentenced next month after a judge denied his motion for a new trial.
A St. Landry Parish judge shot down Warren Gautreaux's motion during a Wednesday hearing. Gautreaux's attorney claimed his client did not receive a fair trial because he could not cross-examine two witnesses who allegedly committed perjury.
Gautreaux was convicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the stabbing deaths of Youric and Mary Courville.
Gautreaux will be sentenced on March 26.
