MANSFIELD, La. (AP) - CQMS Razer is temporarily suspending operations at its plant in Mansfield.
KTBS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/saCGUn ) a call to the plant office Wednesday is greeted by a recording that states operations shut down on Nov. 18, and will remain that way through Dec. 2.
Razer is a manufacturer of excavation and drilling equipment, and specializes in the design and production of drag line buckets used in coal mining operations. The company acquired Hendrix Manufacturing and its facilities in May 2010, with the goal of creating 200 new jobs at the Mansfield plant by 2017.
Mayor Curtis McCoy says he will work with Razer, and offer any assistance his office can give in order to keep them in the community.
