Comeaux High School students are mourning the death of one of their peers. 16 year old Matt Hebert died after a single vehicle crash Wednesday night. It happened just after 9:00 p.m.
Hebert was driving south on LA 3073 at Chemin Metaire Road when for unknown reasons, he drove his truck off of the roadway to the left. Hebert then re-entered the roadway, but overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off of the roadway to the right. The truck rolled over and came to rest on its side. Hebert was partially ejected.
The teen died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt. State Police say alcohol is not suspected in the crash.
