Funeral Services Planned for Lafayette Educator, Veteran

Funeral Services have been planned for a former Lafayette educator and veteran.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Emile J. Fourcade, Jr., age 76, who passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at 6:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Fourcade was a native of Gretna and a resident of Carencro since 1962. He was a graduate of S.L.I, now U.L.L., in 1958, and received his Master's degree from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1961. In 1972 he received his Education Specialist degree from U.S.L. Fourcade started teaching in 1957 and retired from teaching in 2005. He retired from military service with the rank of Captain, U.S.N.R., and served in the U.S. Marines, LA. Army National Guard and U.S. Navy Reserves. He was a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, a member Phi Delta Kappa, a member of the Acadiana Young Marines and U.S. Marine Corps League.

Visiting hours will be from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
