The co-founder of a Lafayette church has died. Joseph Dallas Johnson, Sr., died Tuesday following a lengthy illness. He was 79. Johnson, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, co-founded Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where he served on the Ushers' Society and in the Knights of Peter Claver. He also served as the church's groundskeeper. In addition, Johnson worked at Paul Fournet Air Service and at Kinchen Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at 7:00 A. M. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Edison Street. The funeral will begin at 11:00 A. M.
