Funeral for Cheathams, Escort set

Funeral arrangements have been made for the four victims of last weekend's crash on US 90.

Visitation for LaDonna Cheatham; her son, Markus; her daughter, Destiny; and her nephew, DeWayne Escort, will be held on Saturday, March 1 at the Siracusaville Recreation Center from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. The funeral will begin immediately following the visitation.

All four will be buried in in the Mechanicville Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery in Houma.

The Cheathams and Escort were killed last Saturday after their car suffered a blow out and crashed head-on into a school bus carrying the Lafayette High School baseball team.

Tomorrow, Lafayette High School will hold a donation collection for the Cheatham and Escort families. Lafayette High students and employees, as well as members of the community, are asked to donate at least $1 to the cause. To donate online, click here.

In addition, Lafayette High will observe tomorrow a "Remembrance Day" at 11:41 a.m., the time of the accident.
