Funeral Arrangements for Lt. Greg Lavergne Set

Funeral services will be held Friday for a Lafayette Parish sheriff's deputy who died last week. Lieutenant Greg Lavergne was a 24-year veteran of the sheriff's office and worked as a volunteer wrestling coach at Carencro High. He collapsed during practice at the school last Wednesday and died.
Visitation will be held tomorrow at Melancon's Funeral Home's chapel location at 4117 North University Avenue in Carencro. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 P. M. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro. Burial will take place at Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
