A fundraiser will be held for a Franklin firefighter. Brandi Lege, Event Coordinator with the Franklin Fire Department says:
Louis Boudreaux has been serving our community and the surrounding areas with the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department for over 18 years. He has been essential to dispatching and helping fire fighters find their way to emergencies promptly.
Approximately 6 months ago, Louis Boudreaux had an unfortunate accident which, along with multiple complications, ultimately led to the amputation of his left leg on June 18, 2012. Louis' wife, Dianne, has been doing everything that she can in their given situation to take care of their son, Ryan, while also driving back and forth to Lafayette to be with Louis in the hospital. The financial strain of medical bills, household bills, and the gas to be able to go back and forth from out of town to be with Louis continues to mount. This is why we, along with the help of the community, are trying to give back to one of our most loyal public servants who has been here for our community for so long.
On August 4, 2012 and September 22, 2012, the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department will be holding two separate benefit events for Louis and his family. August 4, 2012 will be a Duathlon/Fun run and Sep 22,2012 we will have live bands, comedy hypnosis, silent auction, raffle, 50/50, and food. Registration for the race may also be found online at www.herosrun.ezregister.com. Donations are tax deductible.
