Friends of Dupre Library hosting book sale

Readers, students and music lovers should find plenty of items of interest at a book sale sponsored by the Friends of Dupré Library.

An assortment of books and musical recordings will be offered. The sale will take place from Thursday, Nov. 7 through Saturday, Nov. 9 on the first floor of the library.

"There will be fiction and nonfiction books on a wide range of topics. There will also be some textbooks and musical recordings," said Andrea Flockton, the library's head of collection development.

Sale hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Nov. 7-8 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 9.

A preview for Friends of the Library and University faculty and staff will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Books will be priced at $1 for hardcover editions and 50 cents for paperbacks. Vinyl record albums will be priced at $1 for single records, and $2 for sets.

"All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library," Flockton said.

Friends of Dupré Library, a volunteer, nonprofit organization founded in 1984 that sponsors lectures and exhibits, organizes fundraisers and helps the library acquire donations of rare archival materials and books.
