Freeze Plan

LAFAYETTE, LA LA The Outreach Center's philosophy is to assist those in need and they work diligently with their partners to secure a safe shelter from the cold outdoor elements expected tonight. The Lighthouse Women & Children Shelter will open it's doors to accommodate as many women and children as possible without jeopardizing safety at 625 North University avenue. Women seeking shelter for the evening can call the Outreach Center before 5pm at 237-7618 and speak with Marilyn Hamilton or Jovian Hopkins to be admitted, or after 5pm call the Lighthouse directly at 289-9141. Men are encouraged to contact the St. Joseph Shelter at 233-6816.

The Outreach Center will also be accepting all cold weather gear donations such as gloves, sweaters, scarves, boots, socks, jackets, etc. Please contact Jill Meaux to donate at 237-7618 or drop off items at 125 S. Buchanan St. 9a-4p weekdays.

The mission of the Outreach Center is to restore the lives of our poverty stricken neighbors by providing critical recovery services - access to housing, meaningful employment and addiction treatment - through faith-based programs easily accessible to our clients.
