Free jackets for students in St. Landry Parish

St. Landry Parish elementary students in need of a jacket this winter can get one from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office. The sheriff was given a large amount of XX-small jackets and is distributing them to students. "A child needs to be well fed and comfortable to get the most from his/her education. We want to help ensure that if a child forgets or simply does not have a coat, he/she will be warm for the day. I want every child to succeed and get everything from school that it has to offer," Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said.

Jackets have already been given to students at Grolee Elementary, Park Vista Elementary, Leonville Elementary, Cankton Elementary and Sunset Middle. Any school interested in XX-Small jackets, should contact Richard Williams at 337-948-6844.
