The Lafayette Chapter of 100 Black Men and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center are hosting a FREE health fair for the general public on Saturday, August 25 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Pride Medical Plaza, located at 850 North Pierce Street.
Volunteer physicians and health experts will be on hand to check blood pressure, body fat, bone density, stroke risk, as well as abnormal cholesterol or blood sugar levels. For accurate cholesterol and glucose results, participants are asked to fast overnight. Additionally, prostate screenings will be offered to male participants to reduce the rate of prostate cancer plaguing African-American men.
