Free dental care is available for music professionals, including musicians, sound engineers, music producers, and music agents in or around the Lafayette area. "Whether you're a lead singer in the spotlight or a sound tech working the board, it's vital for music professionals to maintain good dental health" said Kathy Richard, LCEF Healthcare Initiative Director. "Research shows that poor oral health is associated with increased risks of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions. The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation recognizes the vast cultural importance of our musical ambassadors and we're thrilled to team with MusiCares on this program."
The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation Health Care Initiative, MusiCares, Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic and the SMILE will provide dental exams, X-Rays, and teeth cleanings on December 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lafayette Community Healthcare Clinic at 1317 Jefferson St. Advanced registration and appointment is necessary, and no walk-ins will be accepted.
