Free Day at Palmetto Island State Park

The highly anticipated Palmetto Island State Park opens Thursday morning, but Saturday you can see the park for free.
Lt. Governor Scott Angelle, the Office of State Parks and the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of Palmetto Island State Park on October 30. Admission will be waived.
After the dedication ceremony, the judging for the "Stir the Pot" seafood cook-off fundraiser will get underway, followed by live music.
Palmetto Island State Park is located off LA Hwy 82 in Vermilion Parish, approximately 7 miles south of Abbeville.
