Franklin Police Looking for Escaped Prisoner

Franklin Police are on the lookout for an escaped prisoner.
This morning, officers with the Franklin Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. When consent to search the vehicle was denied, the Franklin Police Department K-9 unit was called upon. A large amount of narcotics and a 22 caliber handgun was located in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is identified as Alfred Hill, 27, of Wilfred Street, Franklin, Louisiana and the passenger Paul Burgess, 51, of Sanders Street, Franklin, Louisiana. When officers went to place Hill under arrest, he fled on foot. After a short chase and brief struggle officers were able to place him under arrest. After officers placed Hill in the police car he was able to get out of his handcuffs and reach over and get out of the unit. Mr. Hill then ran from the scene.

Hill has been charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule III Narcotics (Lortabs), Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies, Simple Escape, Resisting an Officer by Force and Violence and Resisting an Officer by Flight.

Burgess has been charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession With Intent to Distribute Schedule III Narcotics (Lortabs), Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids and Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
