The Franklin Police Department responded to 39 complaints over the past weekend and made the following arrests:
5/9/14 @ 9:31 PM, Don Verret, 57, of St. Joseph Ln., Franklin, LA, was arrested on a warrant for Third Ward City Court on the charge of Disturbing the Peace by Fighting. Verret was processed and released on a $250.00 cash bond.
5/10/14 @ 2:03 AM, Sedric Edison, 46, of Hwy. 182, Franklin, LA, was arrested and charged with Driving While Suspended, No Seat Belt, No Insurance, Driving While Intoxicated (2nd Offense). Officers conducted a traffic stop. Officers smelled alcohol and conducted a field sobriety test. Edison had a blood alcohol content of .116g%. Edison was processed and held with no bond set at the time of press release.
5/11/14 @ 9:38 AM, Gerald Sophus, 24, of Samuel St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on a warrant charging him with Aggravated Battery. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on March 21, 2014. Sophus allegedly hit the victim with a bat. Sophus was processed held with no bond set at the time of press release.
