A 21-year-old Franklin man is accused of computer-aided solicitation of minors for sexual purposes police say.
Franklin Police Department Criminal Investigation Division Technology Unit along with assistance from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office and Nicholls State University Police Department conducted a joint investigation into a report of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Authorities were able to identify and arrest Jireh Devon Grimm, of 1603 Willow Street, after a search was conducted of the suspect's cell phone.
During the course of the investigation, detectives located evidence indicating the suspect allegedly engaged in lewd and lascivious behavior with another juvenile victim resulting in warrants being issued for his arrest.
Grimm is charged with Computer-Aided Solicitation of Minors for Sexual Purposes and Indecent Behavior with Juveniles. Grimm was also charged with Possession of Pornography involving Juveniles (2 Counts).
Grimm was processed and released on a $95,000 bond
Franklin Police Chief Sabria Mcguire encourages all parents to be aware and mindful of the dangers involving minors online and strongly urges parents to notify law enforcement agency if they suspect any illegal activity involving minors online.
