Four People Arrested After Infant's Death in New Iberia

Four people are behind bars after a three year old died in New Iberia. Deputies say the infant was found at approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday having no signs consistent with life at 516 1/2 Malain Street in New Iberia. Detectives are working with the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office involving the investigation. The cause of the infant's death is undetermined until all evidence can be processed and examined.

Deputies say during the search of the residence detectives located marijuana and illegally possessed prescription medication. Detectives also located a "sawed off' shotgun which had a barrel under 18 inches. Four suspects were in the residence along with two other children under the age of six. All four suspects were arrested as a result of the search.

Rayvis Frederick, 45 years old, of New Iberia was charged with Possession of schedule I narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, contributing to the deliquency of juveniles and possession of a firearm by a convicted fellon.

Donielle Frederick, 44 years old of New Iberia, was charged with Possession of schedule I narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and possession of a firearm by a convicted fellon.

Josh Blanchard, 19 years old, was charged with posession of scheduel I narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of a firearm in the pressence of a controlled dangerous substance, posession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of an illegally transfered firearm.

Brittany Leblanc, 21 years old, was charged with possession of schedule I narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of an illegally transferred firearm.
