On December 21, 2009 Agents with the St .Martin Parish Sheriff's Office along with Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries conducted a narcotics investigation in the area of the Atchafalaya Basin (Bayou Sorrel). During this investigation, Agents found evidence of an operational clandestine laboratory. Agents executed a search warrant. As a result of the search warrant agents seized compound and mixtures consistent with a clandestine laboratory, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and ten firearms.
Four subjects were arrested in connection to the illegal narcotics and meth lab. The four subjects were charged with the following; Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled and Dangerous Substance.
