It was around six o'clock Monday morning when Opelousas Police responded to what appeared to be a vehicle accident on 1-49 off of Harry Guilbeau Road.
Chief Perry Gallow says, "Officers proceeded to the scene and located an individual that was deceased in the vehicle."
Evidence leads investigators to believe that foul play was involved.
And while Opelousas Police were across the highway investigating foul play this morning, it was here at Opelousas General just a week ago, where Opelousas Police were doing the same thing.
While Chief Perry Gallow doesn't believe the two incidents are related, he does hope that someone comes forward with answers to what might have happened. Gallow says he hopes someone "provides us with any information that will allow us to be able to identify exactly what happened on I-49 near Harry Guilbeau Road."
Gallow did say they do have the make of a vehicle that may have been involved.
If you or anyone you know may have seen a black Hyundai Elantra that may have been involved in an accident, you're asked to call Opelousas Police or St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers.
