Former police juror admits to malfeasance

COUSHATTA, La. (AP) - A former Red River Parish police juror was placed on probation and ordered to reimburse the parish after admitting to using public resources to do work on private property.

The Times reports the plea agreement reached with Billy Joe Gay, of Hall Summit, also requires him to answer questions related to "any other matters that he may have personal knowledge of regarding the Police Jury.

District Attorney Julie Jones deferred questions on Monday as to whether another investigation connected to the Police Jury is under way.

Gay provided Jones with a signed check for $6,800 that will be directed to the appropriate Police Jury fund to cover the price tag set on amount of work from which he benefited.
