LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) A federal grand jury accuses a former Opelousas alderman and Opelousas High School teacher with getting a minor to engage in sex acts to produce pornography.
Acting U.S. Attorney William J. Flanagan said Wednesday that Larry Caillier (KY-yay) II is charged with producing and possessing child pornography, and with using interstate commerce to try to coerce a minor to engage in criminal sexual acts.
The indictment handed up Tuesday says the alleged incident took place Feb. 8.
The 32-year-old Caillier has been held since his arrest Feb. 26. His initial appearance is scheduled March 16 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Patrick J. Hanna.
Producing child porn carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.
