HOMER, La. (AP) - Federal prosecutors said Wednesday a 33-year-old former executive director of the Homer Housing Authority and five other people have been charged with embezzling more than $300,000 in public housing funds.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley said Michelle Green was arrested Wednesday along with four of her five alleged accomplices.

Green, who lives in North Little Rock, Ark., was the head of the housing authority when the alleged embezzlement scheme began in December 2007.

Prosecutors said a 16-count indictment accused Green of writing checks to her accomplices and others for work that was never done. They said she embezzled some money for her own use and that she cashed checks and gave some of the money to her accomplices.

Also charged were Curtis L. Mays, 33, of Harker Heights, Texas; Katrina G. Robertson, 38, and Flack d. Robertson, 34, both of Haynesville, La.; Aaron Perry, 29, and Katrina Henderson, 33, both of Shreveport.

All of the alleged accomplices except Henderson were arrested Wednesday, according to Finley's office.

Attempts to reach Green by telephone were unsuccessful
