Former Duson assistant chief sues city and police chief

Former Duson Assistant Police Chief Gerald Creduer is suing Police Chief Frank Andrew, Mayor Johnny Thibodeaux, the town and others for wrongful discharge.

Creduer was the lead investigator in Keiosha Felix's case - the missing 15-year-old Duson girl yet to be found. He was fired during the investigation after being accused of violating the constitutional rights of two people who were arrested in connection with the case. Creduer was fired in October, and also is accused of conducting illegal searches and seizures and providing false testimony.

The lawsuit claims the chief breached Creduer's employment contract and that he continues to "suffer losses in earnings and other employment benefits, to his damage in the sum of or in an amount to be established at trial." The lawsuit says Creduer consistently received either good or excellent performance evaluations and merit raises.

The suit seeks lost earning, cost for looking for other employment and damages for emotional distress and humiliation.
