NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Former broadcaster Helena Moreno has won a
special election runoff in District 93 of the Louisiana House of
Representatives.
WWL-TV of New Orleans reports that according to unofficial
results from Saturday's election, Moreno received 1,274, or 56
percent. James Perry, a housing advocate, received 1,011 votes, or
44 percent.
Moreno will represent part of Orleans Parish. She fills a seat
formerly held by Karen Carter-Peterson, who's now a state senator.
