MONROE, La. (AP) - A hearing date has been set for former Ouachita Parish High School band director Jon Lindsey on an obscenity charge in state district court.
The News-Star reports Lindsey pleaded not guilty during a Wednesday arraignment to charges of obscenity and possession of a Schedule III narcotic in connection with an April incident involving a 17-year-old male.
Lindsey has since resigned his position with Ouachita Parish Schools.
Superintendent Bob Webber said the teen involved is not currently a student in the Ouachita Parish School System and has not been since 2008.
According to the arrest affidavit, Lindsey told the deputy he had purchased tobacco for the passenger in his vehicle because he was 17 years old.
Lindsey's next court appearance is on Sept. 28.
