LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A former 15th Judicial District assistant district attorney serving an 18 month prison sentence for federal tax evasion has been disbarred.

The Louisiana Supreme Court has disbarred Joseph Floyd Johnson on Friday, making it retroactive to Dec. 7, 2010, the date of Johnson's interim suspension, according to the ruling.

According to the Advocate (http://bit.ly/wGtG1s ) the 51-year-old Johnson pleaded guilty to one felony count of tax evasion on Nov. 10, 2010. A federal judge in June sentenced Johnson to serve 18 months in prison and ordered him to pay about $180,000 in restitution.
