SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Shreveport police have arrested a former aide to Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover on charges he forced a young woman to have sex with him in a government building.
Police spokesman Bill Goodin says 43-year-old Richard A. Seaton Jr. of Shreveport surrendered to investigators at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. Detectives had obtained a warrant for Seaton's arrest on one count of forcible rape.
Seaton was booked into the city jail. Bond was set at $150,000.
The charge stems from a Dec. 27 report by an 18-year-old woman who told police she had been sexually assaulted by a man at the government building.
Glover fired Seaton, the city's assistant chief administrative officer, hours after the accusation was made.
