The weekend is officially in our sights and the forecast for the next several days looks very familiar.
High pressure remains the dominant weather maker, or lack of weather maker, as it continues to build over Louisiana.
Temperatures will be increasing as we go through the next few days so expect the thermometer to start reading more in the mid 90s.
Humidity will once again be high, as it usually this time of year, so the heat index should have no problem reaching the upper 90s.
As far rain chances go it is looking very slim here for the weekend, with the best chances for rain along the coastal and basin parishes.
Eastern parts of the state will see better rain chances for the end of the work week, but even then it won't be more then typical summer time showers.
High pressure will begin to break down by the start of next week, which will allow our usual shower patter to develop through next week.
