Dozens of people in need have full stomachs this evening thanks to First Baptist Church and FoodNets first ever community Thanksgiving dinner.
With dining tables set, the soft sounds of the harp playing and more than two dozen volunteers, First Baptist and FoodNet were ready to serve.
"We had hostesses for each table and waiters for the tables because we wanted to nurture relationships and meet people," said FoodNet Executive Director Lemel Jones.
The day was about more than eating all the fixings. The goal was to enjoy each other's company and remember what you're thankful for.
"It's so wonderful to see all of us come together and make an impact on people's lives and to have a wonderful church like First Baptist step in," said Jones.
Veronica Green came to First Baptist with her two boys. She says she feels blessed to receive the day's fellowship and meal.
"It's good when you're invited. I just want to say thank you Jesus for being God. Thank him for everything, good or bad times."
