The lieutenant governor's office says 12 rental cabins at Louisiana's busiest state park probably won't reopen before late 2014.
Spokesman Jacques Berry tells The Times-Picayune it will cost about $1.8 million to repair the cabins at Fontainebleu State Park near Mandeville. The cabins on piers over Lake Pontchartrain were heavily damaged last August by Hurricane Isaac.
Berry says the state has yet to get repair money for the cabins from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. More than 300,000 people visit the park each year.
The storm flooded the visitor's center, tore up the park's sandy beach and pushed water into the vacation cabins.
Most of the park reopened last fall. The cabins remain shuttered.
