Florida Murder Suspect Arrested in Opelousas

Just before 12am on Tuesday, the Opelousas Police Department along with the FBI, U.S. Marshal's Office, Louisiana State Police, St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, members from Lafayette Police Department and Lafayette City Marshal took into custody without incident Kevin Kent Satterfield, age 55, at a local motel in Opelousas.

Satterfield was tracked to the Opelousas area by the US Marshal after he allegedly shot and killed his wife and his daughter's boyfriend. Satterfield also allegedly shot his daughter who was 8 months pregnant. According to reports, his daughter and the baby did survive. Satterfield is facing charges in Florida on two counts of first-degree murder and attempted felony murder. Satterfield is being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail.
