Tonight some in Acadiana are still flooded after heavy rains overnight into this morning, close to a foot of rain fell in 12 hours.
In Carencro, several homeowners said they're tired of flooding problems in their neighborhood.
After a night of heavy rain, Chelsea Cobb and Cory Melancon are some of the lucky one's who didn't see water inside their homes, outside is a different story.
"Seeing that one night of rain basically can do this, it makes me see we're going to have to take some precautions get some sand bags and keep it by our house," said Melancon.
"This is our first experience with it."
But just a few houses down Rob Spell woke up to water knocking at his front door.
"It's enough to have a claim, it extends out about 3-4 inches and then the base boards are starting to swell already," said Spell.
"We will probably stay in a hotel for the next two night and try to let all this blow over."
Gary Watson and Dominique Broussard say this is the second year they've seen flooding like this. They want something done.
"It just seems like the problem exist here, just only here," said Watson.
