Dozens of homeowners in Carencro spent Tuesday morning cleaning up the huge mess Monday's storms left behind.
Keith Gorge is one of several homeowners on Magnolia Knee Drive who called a cleaning service for help.
"All of the floors are wet. We got about four or five inches of rain in the house. All of the flooring must come up and face-boards," said Gorge.
Crews with Service Master Cleaning have been working throughout Gorge's entire home.
Workers ripped up carpet and placed fans in each room to dry wet areas.
"We just bought a bedroom set Friday. The water came up to everything, it's bad," said Gorge.
Workers say the kind of damage Gorge received, it may take a week to dry and months to completely clean it depending on how much water the sheet rock in his walls absorbed.
"If everything isn't sanitized properly, mold will grow inside the walls and on the floors. This can become a real health hazard," said Wyatt Reagan with Service Master Cleaning.
Flooded homes is a huge problem many Carencro residents are trying to tackle; It's also big task for cleaning services. On a typical day Service Master Cleaning services about eight homes, but on Tuesday they were scheduled to clean 80.
