Flash Flood WATCH will be in effect through Friday night and into Saturday afternoon. Rainfall expected to continue during this time frame with the bulk of the moisture arriving Friday evening.
Expect to see an additional 1-3" of rainfall by Saturday, which will be falling on ground that has already been saturated. Be sure to stay alert for flooding along roadways, and remember do not try driving a vehicle through a road that is flooded.
The good news is that this system will start to taper off dramatically by Saturday evening, with a few clouds lingering into Sunday. Some of the bands of rain will have thunderstorms embedded in them, however, the severe weather threat is minimal at best.
Parishes that will see the majority of the wet weather will be the coastal parishes, who have already received a good bit of rain. An early look passed the weekend shows clearing skies starting on Sunday with sun expected for the beginning of the work week.
