A Lafayette man has filed a lawsuit against the Lafayette Consolidated Government and Police Chief Jim Craft claiming unlawful arrest and excessive force. Brad Soloman alleges on the night of November 13, 2011, Officer Jeremy Dupuis and four unnamed officers arrested him and his brother while they were walking from a Simcoe Street parking lot to a nearby food truck. Soloman also says the officers punched him in the body and kicked in the face even though he did not resist. Soloman says he was later released without being booked. LCG Chief Administrative Officer Dee Stanley says he has not yet seen the lawsuit and cannot comment on pending litigation.
