THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A firm has been picked to design and guide Lafourche Parish's growth over the next two decades.
Parish President Charlotte Randolph says Brown & Danos of Baton Rouge was picked from a field of three finalists. Contract negotiations are under way and should be finished by July 15.
The Courier reports that the $257,000 comprehensive plan is intended to help Lafourche plan for future disasters and provide incentives for commercial investments.
The Baton Rouge-based nonprofit Center for Planning Excellence helped find grant money to pay for the study and is assisting with other aspects, like public outreach.
