Fire leaves more than 2 dozen families homeless

CHALMETTE, La. (AP) Chalmette firefighters say three apartment buildings caught fire leaving more than 2 dozen families homeless.

Fire Chief Thomas Stone told WWL-TV that he suspects that an arsonist set fire to a nearby abandoned building early Monday, and that the fire spread to the occupied apartments.

Stone said no one was injured.
