Fire investigators confirmed the cause a fire

Fire investigators confirmed the cause of an afternoon fire at 605 Fox Run. Plumbers were repairing the leaking water line in a vacant apartment's laundry room. While repairing the line, the heat from the equipment used ignited combustible material in the wall. The fire spread to the attic area.

Due to the high temperatures and design of the structure, a second alarm was called bringing additional firefighters to the scene. Over twenty-five firefighters battled the fire. Acadiana Ambulance was on scene in case of any injuries. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

All four apartments sustained heavy fire damage. The occupants of the three occupied units were displaced as a result of the fire. Red Cross will provide assistance those affected.

The fire was accidental.
