Fire District ribbon cutting for new emergency vehicle

On November 29 the St. Landry Fire District 1 held a dedication of their a new emergency vehicle acquired through a grant.

The dedication happened today at 10 am at the central station of the St. Landry Fire District 1.

The new 2012 International 2300 Medium Duty Type 3 ambulance will enable them to provide better emergency care to the residents.

The ribbon was cut by John "Johnny" David, who has been a volunteer for the fire district for 60 years.

After the ribbon cutting, David was presented with a plaque and a flag by the Volunteer Fire Chief Charles Melancon for his many years of dedication.
