BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) The St. George Fire Department says fire destroyed a pancake restaurant in Baton Rouge but all customers and employees got out safely.

Officials say 20 employees and 15 to 20 customers were in the IHOP restaurant when the fire broke out about 3:20 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters believe the fire started on the patio near where someone was smoking. Fire department spokesman Eldon LeDoux says four engines and a ladder truck responded.
