Fire Claims Life of Krotz Springs Man

A Krotz Springs man is dead following a house fire this morning in the 700 block of Front Street. The State Fire Marshal's Office says they believe they found the body of 73-year-old Floyd Mason inside the home. Officials say one of several factors could have caused the fire. Investigators say they found a space heater in the home, but they also say Mason smoked while using an oxygen tank. No officials cause has been determined, and the fire remains under investigation.
