GALLIANO, La. (AP) - Authorities in Lafourche Parish say a fire call in Galliano led to discovery of what police believe was a backyard methamphetamine lab
Firefighters found a smoldering mattress at the home when they arrived on Monday. They also found what they suspected to be illegal drugs. The Daily Comet reports that the substance they found turned out to be legal. But Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force agents discovered the remnants of an alleged meth lab in a shed on the property.
Booked with operating a clandestine laboratory were 20-year-old Sean Martin of Galliano and his 24-year-old cousin Kevin Martin of Ferriday. Both were being held in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bonds.
